From September 3 to September 6: A spectacular series of programs with 75 concerts and free musical activities

Montreal, August 11, 2010Angèle Dubeau, artistic director of La Fête de la Musique and Tremblant are happy to present more than 30 of the best musical groups of Canada in 75 concerts and musical activities spread out on three stages in the pedestrian village and the City of Mont-Tremblant, sure to delight everyone during the Labour Day Weekend.

"This is an invitation to experience the great pleasure of listening to more than 250 of musicians from Quebec throughout the entire weekend. I should like to welcome Maestro Kent Nagano and the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal, who will make their first appearance here and open the musical celebration!" Angèle Dubeau announced.

"At the heart of the grandiose nature of Tremblant and the warm welcome of the city, this musical rendezvous will take place surrounded by the sounds of all types of music: classical, jazz, techno, flamenco, baroque, romantic, pop, Chad rhythms, a capella, world music … " concluded Angèle Dubeau.

Among the guest artists, not to be missed are the performances of the young prodigy, pianist Jan Lisiecki, who will play a concert dedicated entirely to Chopin, the Saturday night concert with Lorraine Klaasen and her group, who are back this year, and of Angèle Dubeau & Friends, who will present "Les chemins de l'errance" (The roads of wandering), with such guests as Lewis Furey and La Pietà. Watch for the many ensembles and well-known musicians who will perform: H'Sao, Caravana Flamenca, Paul Ramos, Constantinople, I Tromboni, the Moonlight Girls. Also participating are Les Petits Chanteurs de Laval and the Cœur Tremblant.

We'd like to point out that Espace Musique, the official broadcaster of the Fête de la Musique, will be there. It will air a special live program, hosted by Rebecca Makonnen, that will feature the Révélations Radio-Canada Musique, including Alex Nevsky and the hip-hop group Radio Radio.

The Mayor's Parade with the group Kumpa'nia, a group of 15 percussionists in costume inviting citizens to join them, will enliven the sectors of the Tremblant Village and of the Market Square. They will then proceed to the site a little before noon to open the Fête de la Musique with Angèle Dubeau and end their parade on St-Jovite's rue Principale.
