Over his career, Simon has visited nearly 75 ski resorts around the world and, for the past 12 years, has hosted several TV shows devoted to skiing. Alpine touring is one of his passions because this sport challenges him and gives him the opportunity to explore mountains differently.

All participants must check-in at the Festival Headquarters located at Centre Aventure (open map) at least 30 minutes prior to their activity to confirm their presence. Please rent your equipment before you check-in.

  • This activity includes: daily access to alpine touring trails, technical advice, skill upgrading, tour to the summit of Mont Tremblant, trail discovery and one run down a marked ski trails.

Hit the trail before dawn and watch the sunrise from the mountaintop
  • Schedule: Saturday at 5 a.m.
  • This 2-hour activity is intended for Experts only. Guests must be in good physical shape and able to climb the mountain in approx. 120 minutes.
  • Meeting point: Festival Headquarters
  • This activity includes: daily access to alpine touring trails, tour to the summit of Tremblant from the South Base, sunrise watching in good company, and one run down one a marked ski trails before the official opening of the day.
  • Registration fee: $14.99
  • Schedule: Sunday at 9 a.m.
  • This 3-hour activity (half course) and 5-hour activity (full course) includes a lunch break (meal not included) and the daily access to alpine touring trails, and is intended for Connaisseur and Enthusiast participants.

Half Course (total ascent: 700 meters)
Partial tour of Mont Tremblant, starting on the South Side, going to the summit of The Edge, down to the base of The Edge, the foot of the slopes on the North Side, up to the summit on the Duncan Express chairlift, and one run down a marked ski trail.

Full Course (total ascent: 1 050 meters)
Full tour of Mont Tremblant, starting on the South Side, going to the summit of The Edge, down to the base of The Edge, the foot of the slopes on the North Side, the Nord-Sud trail, and then to the base of Versant Soleil. The group will finally take Carriole and Des Pruches trails to return to the pedestrian village.

Avalanche safety and rescue
Because only an immediate response by people already at the site of an avalanche accident can guarantee a chance of rescue!

  • This 2-hour activity is intended for all levels

  • Meeting Point: Festival Headquarters
  • Hosted by a professional member of Avalanche Québec, this workshop aims to give tools to outdoor adepts for their outings on the mountain. You will learn basic notions on mountain safety and good practices in the event of an avalanche emergency. Accessible without prerequisites, this 1.5-hour workshop is intended for skiers, snowboarders, snowshoers, snowmobilers and climbers who want to learn more, practice and update their rescue skills and techniques.

Ski under the stars, then savour a delectable fondue dinner
  • Schedule: Saturday, January 21 at 3:30 p.m., 4 p.m., and 4:30 p.m.
  • This 5- to 6-hour activity is intended for Connaisseur and Enthusiast participants. Guests must be in good physical shape and able to climb the mountain within 2 ½ hours.
  • Meeting Point: Festival Headquarters
  • This activity includes: daily access to alpine touring trails, complete ascent of Tremblant from the South Base, one run down a marked ski trail on the North Side, outdoor campfire, fondue dinner with animation at La Fourchette du Diable, ½ bottle of wine per person, attendance of Simon St-Arnaud with presentation during the evening and shuttle ride back to Headquarters.

  • This bike ride includes: fatbike outing in bike trails maintained by Vélo Mont-Tremblant near the ski area. Fatbike rental offered at Headquarters for the duration of the Festival, located at the Adventure Centre and at local shops.

Fatbike rental is not included. Bring your own or rent one at the event Headquarters located at Centre Aventure for the duration of the festival or in a store of the region offering fatbike rental. Rental fleet is limited.

Validity
  • Access to the alpine touring trails is included in the following paying activities: Ascension at dawn, Forest Adventure, Tour de la Montagne half and full course and the Traversée nocturne.

Registration
  • Festival Rando Alpine activities that require payment must be booked online at least 1 hour in advance except for the Traversée nocturne that must be booked online at least 72 hours in advance (it is also possible to register onsite up to one (1) hour before the start of this activity).
  • Ticket pick-up is at the Festival Headquarters located at Centre Aventure (proof of purchase and photo ID required).

Festival Activity Launch

Friday January 20

To open this 3rd edition, pick the Sunset ski touring ride or hop on your fatbike with a group of cyclists to reach the opening cocktail and end the day relaxing in Scandinavian baths!
To launch this 3rd edition, Festival Rando Alpine Tremblant will start with a guided fatbike ride for biking enthusiasts. Discover this sport gaining in popularity or join adepts in beautiful trails maintained by Vélo Mont-Tremblant. End your ride at Scandinave Spa Mont-Tremblant with a cocktail. You even have the option to stay after the cocktail to enjoy the evening in the baths for a well-deserved relaxation. This activity is intended for intermediate and experienced mountain bikers. Fatbikes rentals available (Quantities are limited).

No worries, we handle it all: transportation of your bag with a change of clothes, return in a shuttle to headquarter for both you and your bike.

Timed Races

SkimoEast Festival Race La course du Festival SkimoEast welcomes racers in the following disciplines: alpine touring, snowshoeing and running. It is held on safe courses that are custom-designed for the festival. Whether you are looking for a personal challenge or merely wish to have fun on the mountain, there’s a race for you.
Sprint or Endurance events
Both the Sprint and Endurance events will be held on a 3.5-km course. For the Sprint event, the winner will be the participant with the best lap. For the Endurance event: participants must do successive laps of the 3.5-km looped course. The participant with the most laps wins the event.
  • This race is intended for all. It is sanctioned by SkimoEast.
  • Start: Saturday at 11 a.m.

Guests participating in one of the SkimoEast Festival Race must check in at the Centre Aventure at least 60 minutes before the start of the race to:

  • This race starts on the South Side and will take you on all four mountain faces. It has a 1 525–m climb and needs to be done at a fast or very fast pace. Results will be compiled when you reach three legs of 20 to 30 minutes each recorded on Strava.
  • To register your results on Strava, you must create an account on strava.com. You must also carry a Strava compatible GPS watch or smartphone during the race.
